SKYPE
Skype is a free, voice over, software that allows uses to make calls via the internet. The greatest advantage is that students and professionals who may not attend class or meetings for various reasons can use Skype. This broadens the scope of possibilities for distant learning opportunities (Michels & Ching-Wen, 2011). This innovative technology has provided easier access in connecting with students and professionals. Due to conflict of scheduling, I was unable to meet at Occidental College to present preview of a workshop to student affairs professionals. Thankfully, I was able to use Skype to join the presentation and present to the student affairs professional and be digitally present to hear their feedback.

Degree Audit
There is now a growing commitment to better evaluation and quantitative analysis of student progression in community colleges that promises a more systematic and informed process of program and policy development (Bailey, 2009). Chaffey Community College uses the Degree Audit program to emphasize student retention, academic success, and career goals. Due to much research Chaffey College has seen a need for students to track their progress on goal. Too many students were wandering aimlessly on campus not knowing if they were on track with their desired educational goals. Degree Audit offers students independent access to self-monitor progress, shows completed coursework, highlights academic areas in need of completion, and provides class options needed to fulfill requirements. This is a technological tool I teach students to use, which helps them gain more ownership of their academic journey.

Prezi: Change Happens
As the teaching assistant for LDRS 333 Leadership Influence and Impact course I was to teach on a historical change event, initiative, or movement from around the world. I created a Prezi presenting women breaking boundaries in the world of cinema, which influenced the role of women in society in the 1930’s and 1940’s. I informed the students on the history of the roles in women in cinema, escaping the world of domesticity, the influence of the Great Depression and women breaking the mold in society and cinema. I used Komives theories on conscious of self, congruence and controversy with civility to explore how a few influential women in cinema lead the way for the transforming role of women in Hollywood and in everyday life (Komive). The use of Prezi allowed me to thoughtfully and creative present and teach the students.
